The short version: OnScore has no accounts and no servers of its own. Your scores, your annotations and your practice history stay on your device. We do not collect personal data, and we do not track you.
This policy explains what OnScore does with your information, which device permissions it asks for and why, and what rights you have. It applies to the OnScore app for iPad and iPhone.
OnScore does not collect, store or transmit personal data to us. There is no sign-up, no profile and no analytics account. Specifically:
The app’s privacy manifest declares no collected data types and no tracking domains. It accesses only your own preferences, file timestamps and system uptime, the last of these so the metronome can keep accurate time. All of it stays on the device and is used solely to make the app work.
Each permission is requested only when you use the feature that needs it, and you can refuse or revoke any of them in iOS Settings. The rest of the app keeps working.
Face gestures are switched off until you turn them on, and every other part of OnScore works without them.
When you do turn them on, the front camera is used only while a score is open, including the TrueDepth camera on devices that have one. Everything is worked out on your device as it happens. The app reads only what it needs to recognise the gesture you chose: whether an eye is closed, whether the jaw is open, whether the eyebrows are raised, and the angle your head is turned or tilted. Each reading lasts a fraction of a second and is replaced by the next.
No face data is collected. No image, video, depth map or face model is recorded, written to disk, added to your library, included in a backup, or sent anywhere. None of it is shared with us or with any third party, because none of it ever leaves your device. It is never used to identify you, to build a profile, for advertising, or for any purpose other than turning the page in front of you.
Because nothing is stored and we operate no servers, there is no face data to retain and none to delete. Turning the feature off, or closing the score, stops the camera at once.
Your scores are stored in OnScore’s own folder on your device. Original files you import are kept unchanged; edits are saved as separate versions so the original is never overwritten.
If you switch on iCloud sync, your library is copied through your iCloud Drive so it can appear on your other devices. That is a channel between you and Apple: we have no access to it and no copy of its contents. Apple’s handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple’s privacy policy. You can turn sync off at any time and your local library is unaffected.
OnScore can browse public domain sheet music inside the app. Doing so opens an external website, and that site’s own privacy policy and terms apply to your visit. We do not receive your searches or see what you download; files you save are placed straight into your local library.
Any purchase or subscription is processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Apple tells the app only whether an entitlement is active. Billing, receipts, refunds and cancellation are handled in your Apple Account settings.
Because your content never leaves your device except through your own iCloud, it is protected by your device’s own security: your passcode, Face ID or Touch ID, and iOS file protection. Keeping your device updated and locked is the most effective safeguard for your library.
The GDPR gives you rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. These rights apply to personal data held by a controller, and we hold none, because OnScore sends us nothing. In practice you exercise them directly: your data is on your device, you can read and change it in the app, you can export your scores and MusicXML at any time, and deleting the app erases everything it stored.
We do not collect personal information, so there is none to disclose or delete on request, and we have never sold or shared personal information. You cannot be discriminated against for exercising any privacy right, and there is nothing to opt out of.
OnScore is a music tool suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children. There are no accounts, no chat, no user-to-user features and no advertising. The only content that appears is what you import yourself, plus the public domain library, which opens an external website that parents may prefer to supervise.
OnScore includes no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting software. The only outside services involved are Apple’s (the App Store, and iCloud Drive if you enable sync) together with the external website that the public domain library opens.
