We take your privacy seriously. Chord Legend does not collect or send any personal data to external servers. All your data stays on your device. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle data, what permissions we request, and your rights.

2. No Data Collection

Chord Legend does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to our servers. All data remains on your device:

  • Your learning progress (completed levels, scores) - stored locally on your device only
  • Your app settings and preferences - stored locally on your device only
  • Subscription and purchase information is handled by Apple, not us
  • We do not track you across other apps or websites
  • We do not sell or share any data with third parties

3. Microphone Input

If you use the microphone input feature, audio is processed in real-time on your device to detect pitch. This audio data is:

  • Not transmitted to our servers
  • Not stored on your device beyond the real-time processing moment
  • Not shared with any third parties
  • Processed locally only on your device

You must grant microphone permission in iOS settings to use this feature. You can revoke this permission anytime in Settings.

4. No Account Required

Chord Legend does not require you to create an account or provide personal information to use the app. Your progress is stored locally on your device only. No login, email, or personal information is needed.

5. Subscription & Payments

Subscriptions are managed entirely through Apple App Store. Your payment and subscription information is handled securely by Apple, not by us. We do not have access to your payment methods or Apple ID. See Apple's privacy policy for details on how they handle your information.

6. App Permissions

The Chord Legend app may request the following iOS permissions:

  • Microphone: Only if you choose the microphone input method. Used to detect pitch in real-time, processed locally on your device.
  • You can manage these permissions anytime in iOS Settings → Chord Legend

7. Data Security

Your progress data is stored locally on your device and is protected by your device's native security features (iOS encryption). We do not store personal data on external servers, so there is no risk of server-side data breaches. Your data is only as secure as your device.

8. GDPR Rights (European Users)

If you are located in the European Union, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

  • Right to access your data
  • Right to correct inaccurate data
  • Right to delete your data (which is only on your device)
  • Right to data portability
  • Right to withdraw consent
  • Right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority

Since we don't collect data on our servers, your data is under your control on your device. To exercise these rights, simply delete the app or clear your device data.

9. CCPA Rights (California Residents)

If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

  • Right to know what personal information is collected
  • Right to know whether your personal information is sold or disclosed
  • Right to say no to the sale of personal information

Chord Legend does not collect personal information from anyone, regardless of age. All data is stored locally on your device only. There is no tracking, targeting, or advertising of any kind. Parents and guardians can be confident that this app does not collect or transmit any personal data about their children.

The App integrates with the following third-party services:

  • Apple App Store: For app distribution and in-app purchases
  • Apple StoreKit: For managing subscriptions
