This Privacy Policy explains how the Ear Legend app (the "App") handles your information. In short: Ear Legend does not ask for an account, keeps your learning data on your device, and analyses microphone audio on your device without recording or sending it anywhere.
The App stores the following on your device only:
We cannot see or access this data. It is removed when you delete the App. Depending on your device settings, it may be included in your own iCloud or device backups, which are handled by Apple.
You do not need to create an account or give us your name, email address or any other personal details to use Ear Legend.
Sing-back and play-back exercises use the microphone to check the pitch of your singing or playing. Microphone audio is:
The App asks for microphone permission only when you first use one of these exercises. You can skip them, and you can turn the permission off at any time in your device settings.
If you connect a MIDI keyboard or controller, the App reads the notes you play to check your answers. These notes are processed on your device and are not stored or sent anywhere.
If you turn on practice reminders, the App schedules notifications locally on your device at the time you choose. We do not run a notification server and do not receive any information about your reminders. You can turn reminders off in the App or in your device settings.
If you buy the App or anything in it, Apple processes the payment. We never see your payment details or your Apple ID. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
To unlock and restore what you have bought, the App checks your purchase with Apple and may use a service provider that confirms purchases on our behalf. This uses anonymous transaction details only, such as the product, purchase date and renewal status, and never your name, email address or learning data.
Ear Legend does not track you across other companies' apps or websites, does not use your device's advertising identifier, and does not sell or share personal information with data brokers.
Ear Legend is suitable for learners of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Learning data stays on the device, and the purchase information described in section 7 is anonymous and is not used to identify or contact anyone. Purchases on a child's device are subject to the parental controls and Family Sharing settings provided by Apple.
Depending on where you live, including in the European Union, the United Kingdom and California, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict its processing, and to complain to your local data protection authority. We do not sell personal information.
Your learning data is on your device and fully under your control. You can delete it at any time by deleting the App.
We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example when we add features. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change affects how your information is handled in a significant way, we will let you know in the App.
